Thanksgiving Fun!

We learned many new and interesting facts about the First Thanksgiving. It was exciting to wear our head dresses dipicting the Pilgrims and Native Americans as we did our work this week.





50 Days of First Grade

We all got a half dollar for being in school 50 days! We traded all our money for one half dollar. We used our magnifying glasses to take a closer look. Ask your child if they can remember who the president is on our new coin!


Fun With Calculators

We worked hard on math problems using calculators as a tool for adding double digit numbers. Our number sentences included 40+60, and 53+28. Wow!

Rolling Along With Links

Today we did a simple experiment in math. We rolled toy cars down a ramp and measured how far they rolled, using links. We collected the data and will record results.

Fruit Loop Math

Our math activity this week had us sorting and counting fruit loops with a color lab. We sorted by colors and counted by tens...who knew cereal could be sooo educational and yummy at the same time.


Sand Art!

Julia is demonstrating a fun free choice activity for next week....sand art on the smart board!

Friday Free Choice Time

Yeah! A reward for doing homework all week......a time to choose a fun 15-20 min. activity of one's choice!!! We are a creative bunch!
